My 73 Mav has a tray, and the 73 Comet has(had) the glove box.

I may just build my own tray...seems like a good place to put in a stereo, maybe some gauges, just clean up that area. The glove box is made of cardboard (seriously) and barely holds my radar detector and garage door opener without jamming when I try to close it. Pretty much worthless. Also, a major hassle when disassembling the dash...too many pieces and hard to get to some of the screws above the door.

I never saw one up close until I saw Ed-fan2488's and fell instantly in love (with the tray, not with Ed, even though he is a really nice guy :bouncy: )

Wish I knew you guys wanted trays. I can't tell you how many nice one's I've passed up in junk yards, even A/C one's.

    I'll keep an eye out...

Jamie ... when you get the trays ... make sure you grab the mounting brackets as well for folks that want to do a swap .....

I had 4 trays last week .... 2 went in the dumpster because they had too much dust on them! :) ... I kept the 2 LDO trays ....

so i didn't know that 73 was the only year with the seat belt warning light. i guess they didn't need it in 74 with the whole you have to have your seat belt belted in to get the car to start load of crap.

What light are you talking about? My late 72 had the light in the center of the dash, no 73's did to my knowledge. My '72, '73, and '74 Mavericks have a "Fasten Belts" light in the insturment cluster and a cluster I have out of a '75 has a Fasten Belts light and a yellow "Lo Econ" light. Don't know about the cluster in my '69.5 yet.

Yep. And an extra tray I just found in my shed yesterday. Forgot I had it. I can get pics if your intrested.

It's black, kind of faded and may have a small crack, can't remember. I got it for nothing and I'll pass it on for nothing. Just pay the shipping.

I'll email you pics in the morning.

My '73 Grabber has a tray & my'73 Grabber parts car has a 'box. The tray looks kinda cool, but I like the glovebox better.Since I don't smoke, the ashtray gets all the spare change and I need a place for the registration/insurance papers.I've got an idea that MIGHT make the glovebox more neater(word):p
My Comet is a factory A/C car. What I thought about was moving the am/fm up to the center vent hole(kinda like the Brazilian Mavs)and making a "dash pocket" to go into the hole where the radio used to live. You know,a place to put a cellphone,CD's maybe put one of those non skid mats on the bottom so it all didn't fall out when all that horsepower is turned loose!:D Directly under the radio(next to the glovebox)I would try to find some factory ford temp/oil/amp gauges from something('67-79 pickup maybe)period looking, and put them there. If I kept A/C,the lower 'box still has the outboard vents, you would just have to maybe hang 2 more under the dash in the middle. Any thoughts?
