    Hi everyone!

My name is Nicholas Taylor and I purchased a 1975 4-door Maverick a few weeks ago. I am in the process of cleaning up some rust, wiring issues, and other small things to make the car a joy to drive. A few things I have questions about are below.

If I want to convert this car to a small bumper, is it as simple as it is for a normal 2 door maverick? Is there extra fabrication I have to do? That is my main issues at the moment. Debating if I should buy the bumpers and valances from Auto Krafters, or try and find a used pair that isn’t crazy expensive. I already have the quarter extenders from a 1972 4 door Maverick.

    Also, will a 70, 71, 72 grill fit on my 1975 4 door?

On the bumpers as a former 4-door 75 Comet owner. All I did was move the front bumper back about 2 3/8" and it dramatically changed the appearance of the car. The holes to do are all ready there. It's easy to do. Took me about a hour to do mine.

Also a 4-door will never be worth more than a 2-door. 2-door Maverick owners buy nice 4-door card for the parts.

Watch the spending on the 4-door. You can get a lot in them quick that you will never get back out.

    Thank you Bruce!

Honestly, I am not too worried about getting money back out of the car. I bought it for $5k and I plan on having it for a very long time. I want to be able to eventually drive my kids around in it, hence me purchasing a 4 door. Plus, you rarely see a 4 door Maverick.

What grill do you have on your comet?

The grill was a standard. I parted the car out. It was a nice car but to much rust.

The grill was very nice. Nothing wrong with it. I think I got like $350 for it. Same guy also bought the sport mirrors.

Regardless of what you do. The car will be a head turner and cop magnetic.

Why would it be a cop magnet?

Because you would be surprised how many cops have classic cars. I got pulled over twice because the cops wanted to check my car out. Of course the car was legal and they really had no reason to pull me over and both said what a nice car it was.

Ummmm, every time I've been pulled over, cop mentioned something about speed.

Don't speed. Both the cops that pulled me over said they was checking the registration. Strange thing was all they have to do is run the plate.
