I'm trying to find a rear bumper to fit my car, but so far there are no mavericks at any of the junkyards close to where I live, so I was wondering what other cars if any would fit a 77 maverick?

    Thanks.

There are quite a few members in Ga. May be able to find someone there that will get rid of one for much of nothing. Post a free ad in the wanted section.

My son has an 81 Fairmont Futura with aluminum bumpers, and I have a 75 with big steel bumpers. Sitting side by side, the bumpers look identical. The Fairmont bumpers have the same width and shape, but they aren't quite as bulky. They are also light as a feather. I have not tried a swap, but shouldn't be hard. You can have your big bumpers, but without the weight, and the look of the "bumper slide".

Personally I believe it would be a super easy swap. I would do both though. Not just front or rear alone.

They definately look better when they are 'tucked'.

Where were all these folks needing bumpers back 2 years ago when
I tried to GIVE mine away?!? I begged someone to take them so I
wouldn't have to put them out on the street for the trash man.

No such luck. They are landfill now. Looking back, those things were
so dam heavy, I should have took them in for scrap when steel was up.
    Live and learn.
