will 96 cobra front springs fit in my 72 302 maverick the last owner had a granada front disk swap and put cut 65 or 68 ? mustang springs and it sits to low or can you tell me what springs will fit
If he didn't change out the control arms then stock Mav springs will work fine. The disk brake swap should not have affected the control arms.
where do you actually find maverick stock springs though if you need new ones? is there any sport type cars that will fit into the maverick?
My Maverick has '85 Mustang GT coils, which I had to cut down. I suspect fox body lowering springs would do the job. And I think the '96 springs you're talking about are about the same as the fox springs. I bet they'd fit. Get your grinder ready though and be prepared for the test fit/cut/test/cut routine.
You're welcome, good luck! You might not have to cut as much as I did, or maybe not at all. I wanted mine lower, and also wanted the suspension very stiff. The '85 GT springs are definitely nice and stiff on a Maverick, so if that's not what you want then maybe 6 cyl springs are an option.
i called a local parts yard and they say most old ford springs will work i bought a pair of 68 mustang springs that are 2'' lowering spring and they worked great just look at my pic's
Thanks guys, yeah im going for stiffer springs and springs for better turning. Also do you guys know the name of the company that makes the replacement leaf springs for the maverick. I remember seeing somewhere in here that a company made bolt on replacements.
i think he meant the front ones not rear. For the rears look at this: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.ph...ing+conversion http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.ph...ht=leaf+spring
