the..Holley 12-305 ...picks up the gas runs it through the pump and back into the tank excess never leaving the tank. this way the gas going forward is cooler than gas that goes to the engine compartment and back to the tank on a continues cycle.
this setup is the same principle as the Corvette style filter regulator and it's externally mounted.
