    Update

Project has been slow going havnt had much time and keep running in to more issues that keep popping up. So as of now I have the engine tranny mounted where they are going to stay, got the clutch master mounted just need to shorten the rod. Got all the fuel lines pretty much sorted out just need to flare a couple things and get a couple fittings. The header upgrade caused a lot of issues, had to buy aftermarket oil feed and return lines from ebay that ended up being pretty useless, and now I have to make a downpipe and get an external wastegate, and also I have to run a front mount intercooler. I had planned on doing a front mount but I wanted to get it running first.
    Anyway here are some pics

    Looks awesome!

Can you explain the engine mount setup for us?(like which fame/motor mounts you used)

As far as the pictures you have to use the "BB code" for forums not HTML.

They are the stock v8 frame and rubber mounts, I ground them to clear bosses and things on the block. I also had to raise the rubber mounts on the frame mounts thats why there are 2 holes. on the frame mount there is a hole in the center so I cut the stop off the bottom and put a bolt in the hole and welded the piece above the bolt ,look at the pic I know its a bad pic, also the welder is labeled the bird because it makes terd welds (flux core welder). Then I got a piece of 1/4 plate to adapt the rubber mounts to the 2.3 brackets, I had to shorten it on the driver side to make adequate clearance for the oil filter. Also I had to grind the 2.3 brackets a little. And for the trans I flipped it around ground it to clear the tranny and slotted the holes to get the angle right, the whole engine and trans is shifted to the pass side about 1/2" because the oil pan would be touching on the driver side. I will have to shorten the driveshaft this way also but only an inch or 2. the stock c4 mount bolts to the t5.

I have seen the other car that had the 2.3 turbo swap and he pretty much made solid mounts from a piece of plate steel. I did mine this way because I didnt want it vibrate real bad.

okay every time I try to post a link to a pic it says my post will not appear right away it has to be approved by a moderator but days have gone by and the post never appeared. And most of the pics are bigger than the liimt that is set so I cant upload them that way. I dont want to have to resize a pic every time I upload it. Does it just not get posted because the file is too big?

That would be cool but the TC intercoolers are so restrictive that it would really hurt the power potential.

Thanks for explaining the mount setup! That is really valuable information. :Handshake

I just noticed you only have 6 posts, I think you need at least ten post to embed picture. It's a weird forum rule.

I also made a stencil of the finished mount plate so I can scan it and give it to people if anybody were interested. By no means is it the absolute correct or only way to do it though, heck I havnt even finished the project.

Got a front mount intercooler, looks like it should fit but now I will have to mount the battery in the trunk. Also got my downpipe mocked up and figured out where the wastegate will mount and clear the shock tower and downpipe, it is a pretty tight fit. There is a pic of the clutch master cylinder mount also

That's near where my parents live. They live in Santa Clara. When I get my turbo Pinto going I might have to come see your Maverick :)

So I got my intercooler figured out/mocked up, figuring out the charge pipes. got all the exhaust/wastegate/dump pipe done in final mock up just a little welding, most is already done. Also made a custom forward facing upper intake pipe just need my friend to finish up the CNC flanges so I can mock it up and weld together.

Any status update on this car? I would love the file for those engine mounts and whatever information you might have. I'm really thinking about picking up an 88 turbo coupe to swap into my 72 Mav.

In my opinion, this is the COOLEST swap you can do. I'd love to see some updated/finished photos.
