200r4 Vs. Aod

    73 all original 302 2d red blk int. 72,302.2dr. green and 71 200ci. 2d green
    I have an 85 ford van with an AOD tranny in it. As far as I can see there is no "cable" on it. Is this some thing that would have to be added on to the tranny?

    Take a look again. It may be hard linkage in that application. Would go from the carb down. It may look like a kick down rod. If the trans is a regular AOD, the shifter would have a selector pattern of
    R-N-(OD)-D-1. (OD) being a D with some sort of white shading. There is a 2nd gear but you have to shuffle the selector to get into it.
