    Hey guys, how's it going?
So I'm need of a little assistance. I've been doodling with my '74 Maverick trying to get it to run with the 250, just so I can be able to drive it around for a bit before I save up enough to drop a 302 in her. Now to the issue. At first when trying to start it I dropped a new battery and cranked it, the result was that it would fire up and die out as if it weren't getting any fuel. So naturally I replaced the fuel pump thinking that would be it. I was wrong. It kept doing the same thing so I thought maybe it's the carb? So I pulled it out to clean it and sure enough it was clogged like all hell, most likely from sitting for so long before I bought it. So I cleaned that up but noticed that there is a sort of clip missing from where the float meets the plunger. The clip was just gone and the float was dry. So does anybody know where I can get another clip, or maybe know of any way I could jimmy rig another one?
If there's something I may have overlooked could you maybe help me out and tell me what else I should check?
    Thanks guys
    -Jon
