300 in a maverick?

    300 inline 6 in a mav has any one done it? i like the inliners i am a weird one. but hey they make speed equipment for them plus its the big block of 6 cyl.

    I'm new here.. but I have seen the car in that last link above. The youtube vids are around if you search for them.



    I've built a pretty stout 4.9 NA motor in the past and they are little torque monsters with seriously beefy bottom ends. 7 main caps tends to do that to a cranks integrity.

    Although the 4 inch stroke of those motors tends to have just the opposite effect on crank durability and main studs along with the best rod bolts money can buy start to become mandatory if you really want to crank the rpm up NA/without a turbo.

    IIRC, mine revved to about 6,100rpm or so without issue(the offy manifolds are rpm restrictive and mine was heavily modded to further my cam choice).. and I tore up more than one unsuspecting Mustang 5.0.. or maybe two. I mean seriously.. who ever thinks that a 69 Ford F-100 flatbed with a 6 banger is worth watching out for when your sitting in such a cool car, right? :hmmm:
