A 352 is a smaller bore, higher compression predecessor to the 360. Most I've seen run pretty good. Great old truck motors, not bad in an old Galaxie. They like manual trannies and lower gears.
Yup mine loved the 3.70 gears with a 28'' tall tire and the C6... cant complain at all, but it wasn't stock. lol Even when it was slap wore out and stock it had 31'' tall mud tires it would blow them off
I LOVE my 390. i wish i could get one of the new overdrive truck trans, between the motor and the divorced xfer case for small cash to get the gas mileage up a little, HOWEVER my mileage is 17 which is comparable to most new small block 4x4 pickups that dont have as much torque out of the hole by a LONG shot.... and a simple bump stick upgrade would make mine produce quite a bit more (at the cost of the MPG though) hehe. just got back from the bay area and went both ways 4 hours each way with several higher speed limit zones where 80 was just another number.
Yeppy. I think they're getting old enough that alot of peoples only experience with an FE is an old worn out 360 or a 390 on it's 4th valve job(and needing another). In a Mav, not practical, but in a truck or a heavy car(Galaxie) a 351W can't hold a light to a good running FE. The old dinosaurs got something a 351W can't make in comparison-Torque. And 17 is waay respectable for a 390 in a 4x4 truck.
