I don't think this is really something that came unexpected. Well, I guess the woman running the centennial celebrations didn't expect it - she's been crying since the top came off the vault.

Anyway, I'm going down to the car show today and will takes some pictures. I'll try to post them later this afternoon. I'll get some good close-up pictures if I can.

$h!!!!!!ttttt ive driven cars that were worse off than that thing. i had a 76 delta rusted all the way up the rear quarters. had to screw in a sheet of aluminum to the side just so my stuff wouldnt slide out of the trunk. when i hit the breaks i was always afraid the the frame would stop but the body would keep going and crack off lol. the outter body looks to be ok on that '57, cant speak for the floors though. but with some of the things i see those guys do on TV that plymoth doesnt seem like that much of a challange. im sure it'll live on a something more productive then just crushing it

Yea, me too. Should see the '76 Maverick I drove from Terry's back yard all the way up to NC (150+ miles). The car is literally about to rust in half. The front frame rails are rusted 3/4 of the way off. Floors are almost gone completely. The trunk floor does not exist. Terry was afraid when I drove it out of his driveway that the rearend would fall out right there. :biglaugh: It's amazing how well it drove though. That car floated right along smooth as can be at 55 mph. I've stripped the car to nothing now, and am going to crush the body.

I watched the video of the unveiling last night. Did you guys see Boyd's shameless self-promotion? Pathetic...

Really, it doesn't look to bad, I'd like to know why the rear is sitting so low, but after sitting in the ground for 50 years, just think of what a Maverick would be like, you'd have the hood lip moulding and the glass left.
Does anyone have the keys for the 57?? thats a totally different question :)
