People see a car like this at times and think it's a true gem. Well it does look like a fairly nice survivor but the truth is this car will need just as much work as most other Mavericks on the market. It still needs bodywork, bumpers rechromed, interior, weatherstrips, mechanicals refreshed and maybe even cowl work. Point is cars like this may look great at first glance, but not worth the big $$$!
I'd say, "show me the car fax!" Do a water test to see if the cowl vent is rusted - use a magnet to find excessive body filler and lift the carpet to look at the floor pans. Check the trunk "side pockets" for rust. If all that is in good shape then offer $950 or what ever you feel they have in it. You know the don't have a lot in it because they don't give much in trade for cars as old as ours.
Its actually a car lot that deals almost completely in antique cars i dont live to far away from this car lot but they are way high on their prices.
