You are right. Mine has the mighty maverick cast, minus the sidepipes and spoiler.

Still, one of my favorites...Displayed right in the middle of my pool table room!

Fan2488 gave it to me, so THANKS ED! Again!

Hmmm...guess I gotta find me one of those. I have at least 10 of all the different colored 71 Grabbers except the Super Treasure Hunt (only 3) and just one of the purple ones so far. I got some work to do!!! :bouncy:

The Real Rider series is all over the department stores now, and are tributes to cars originally released from the late-70s til the mid-80s. The name springs from that they had rubber tires added as a feature.

Redlines (tires with a red stripe) stopped in 1977. Whitewall tires (and odd blue and red stripe tires) were not a sporty car thing in real life car anymore at that point ... white letter tires were the performance tires then, but wide tires kept getting wider too, so Real Riders were art following life.

I hadn't thought to look for a Mighty Mav in the Real Riders. I keep smiling seeing some of the familiar old castings hanging on the pegs when I see them in passing.

I guess I'll have to start digging through these now....

there are two versions of this one...

There are two different versions of the Japan convention Mighty Maverick.
One was available online through the HWC. The other limited to 1000 pcs. (I think, can't remember, I'm at work right now) and was available on in Japan at the convention itself...
I have both:thumbs2:..! I'll post some pics sometime this weekend...

I bought mine from a seller who was attending the convention then and there. 2006 I think...

Have you been checking eBay? That's about the only place you're gonna find one.

Just check weekly. I see them quite often. Every week will be different.
