    72 4dr I6 Maverick Fuel Tank. :hmmm:

Where can I find one of these? I find the 76 ones here and there but nothing that says 72 in the literature.

Mine looks like it's been buck shot with rust pellets on the top. Bottom is fine strangely. I'm Thinking of just fiber glassing it and pouring in some Red-Kote. Any horror stories on this type of thing are welcomed.

Out of curiosity, are the 2dr tanks the same as the 4dr tanks?

Well, nobody could help me with replacements so I fiber glassed and red kote'd it. I hope it holds ;-)

The 70 and the 71-74 tanks are not reproduced. You can use the 75-77 tank as long as you get straps from a 75-77 car, because the tanks are bigger so the straps are longer. The tank holds a few more gallons but if you use your existing fuel pickup/sender, it might not reach the bottom of the tank to get those few extra gallons.

I used my straps but I used longer bolts. Bought the tank w/pickup from Rock Auto for $127.79
