does anyone know what year mustang seat covers work on the 71-72 mav and comet buckets, is it the 70 standard or the 71-73? i see that the foam is different part # for mustang 70 and the 71-73.

71-73 Mustang seat buns are the same as Maverick high backs ... so the Mustang Bucket Covers will also fit Mavericks and Comet High Back Buckets.

I ordered mine (covers and buns) from The Paddock and got 71-73 Mustang Deluxe covers. They worked great! The material is not the same a the factory Grabber comfortweave but still looks good.

My covers are custom made reproductions of original Maverick comfortweave upholstery ...

I think you just have to bolt Maverick tracks on them.

All the 71-73 Stang seat covers use the same foams and covers all swap fine.
So Mach seat covers fall into that group.
Early Maverick buckets are the same except cover and tracks.
To me, this is one area that we are very lucky to have such a wide selection of available parts.

I got these the last time at the salvage yard. I just need to get new foam and covers. $25 well spent.

Just be aware that if you use the Stang tracks, that the seats will line up with the Mav bolt holes with a little tweaking. However the seats will not be centered like they should.
My uncle has Stang tracks on his and the driver's seat especially is not in line with the steering wheel. The passenger side is not noticeable of course, no wheel to highlight the off center.
I haven't looked too hard at it, but with enough time and fabbing, I am sure they could be made to work.

I had NO idea Mustang seat covers would work. My seats still have good foam, just a bit tattered .. thank you to everyone who posted here. You've taken a lot of interior work stress off of my shoulders.

    Yup...
    Just remember 2 things:
    Must be 71-73
    &
They do not look like original Maverick covers (if that is a concern)

Meh, I don't care if they look the same. I've only seen mine once before I tossed a generic cover on it. I know they're beige and nasty, while the rest of my interior is nice and black.

And how about the back seats? Anything that fits those?

I pulled a mesurement of my 72 Cougar ragtop partscar and the back seat is the same as a Maverick!!!So ,since the Cougar and Mustang are the same under the skin , Mustang ragtop covers will fit fine!!!!
