73 vs 74 shoulder belt drop

    I understand that but many cops don't know what year car you are driving. Most wasn't even born yet.

    '72 Maverick, 347 c.i., w/ dual quads, TKO 600 5-speed transmission, back halved w/ 4-link, '16 F150, 5.0 Coyotte, regular cab, shortbed, lowered 3/5 & 1-owner '79 Trans Am.
    The earliest Maverick/Comets had the shoulder belt that had to be connected seperately.
    And I'm mildly concerned about that when I drive my car that has racing 4-point harnesses installed. So far, I've passed the locals without incident.

    Check your state...

    In VA shoulder belts are required for any vehicle built after Jan 1 1968(the Fed mandation). One could make a case their early '68 is exempt.
