My Question is:Will a 1975-on Granada steerinf column fit a 1973 Mav two door?If so,what modification must be done in order for the column to fit.
    Thanks

I have a related question...has anyone tried adding a tilt mechanism to a Maverick steering column...or have they swapped a different column with tilt into a Maverick? And...did Monarchs and Granadas come with tilt wheel as an option?(In case those columns would fit...:))

There is an article on fordmaverick.com in the mechanical section with info on swapping an 86 taurus til steering column into a mav. If that helps at all...

yes some granada/monarch and just about all lincolin versallies had tilt wheel. im trying to get out to where i know there is a tilt column in one, but just haven't had the money.. as far as it fitting in a mav off hand i don't know, but i have both a mav and a granada here that i can take some mesurements, i would think it would work, just out of curiosity what did the later maverick steering column look like (75-77)?

did some checking today, the granada column bolts in a little differnt, so i would say that it won't bolt right in, but it could possably be made to work..

The later columns are just about the same as the earlier ones as far as I can see...in fact, I bolted my '77 column right into my '72!

Hey badmav70, what is the difference on the mounting places between the columns? Do they bolt in basically the same place, or what exactly is the difference between them? Are the sizes different? Is the bracket that bolts to the column to bolt it to the dash in the same place on both columns? Thanks.

i just got rid of my parts granada friday, im pretty sure that its differnt where the bracket bolts the colum to the car, im sure it could be made to work, but not sure how involved it would be.. i'll have to get in my granada and my mav and see if i can get some good pics, i tryed before, but they didn't turn out.. but there is visable differnce..

I installed a tilt from a 85 mustang into a project years back, it went very easy, minor mods were all it took,.but the wiring take time to sort.
