The upper and lower arms are different on a 65 mustang vs maverick. Steering boxes totally differnet also. Which way are you wanting to go? Mustang to mav or mav to mustang?

well i'm wanting 2 swap them both out i'm trying 2 put the mustang on the road now .and build a drag car or hotrod out of the mav. later on. i'm more concered with handeling on the mustang-streetabilty etc. then im ethier gonna sell the mav. or fix it up later. iwould proably want 2 use a 9''rear etc. in the mav. later on anyway so i figured i'd use as much of the mav. susp. as i could on the must. 4 now

The rearend will fit if you slot the bolt holes in the mustang plates and use the maverick u bolts. Really no advantage as they are both 8 in rears. If the mav has disc brakes you can use the spindles, rotors, and calipers. You will also need the outer tie rod ends from the mav. Other than that not much will interchange without a ton of work. I've used a GT350 master cylinder w/ an adjustable prop valve without the headache of plumbing in a dual reservoir m/c. Pinto front brake hoses work with no adapters also.

Concerning front end parts, your Maverick is more closely related to a 70-73 Mustang!
Most of those parts will swap.
Some of the steering linkage and sway bar will not.
Probaby best to steer clear of coil springs from those cars too.
They are heavier cars and the springs will surely ride a Maverick high.

    Edit:
Missed the post where you say you are parting the Maverick to the Mustang.
I thought you found some Stang parts and were going to use them on the Maverick.

The Cougar suspension stuff will only work on the 67 to early 69 Mustang. The 64-66 Mustang is limited to using parts from those years and the 63 to 65 Falcon.

The front coil springs are the only identical part number.

The lower arms on a 67 and later are 2" longer and the upper arms are actually shorter by almost and 1". Ford changed the engine bay on the 67 Stang and widened the compartment by moving the towers outward and the lower arm mount inward. This allowed the suspension to travel in a greater arc and reduce bump steer and tracking. I've been looking at adapting a set of 69 towers into my 66 Stang coupe. I always thought that a Mav would fit a bigger engine (FE or big block) since the towers seemed identicle to the 71-73 Stang:hmmm:

the spindles and manual steering will fit in a 65-66 but you have to put the 67 steering box and steering coulm in the car which is not hard its a derict bolt in thats what i did to my 65. If you want to get real fancy you can get a 67 mustang tilt away coulm.
