i wonder if the rear disc setup on a 94+ mustang could be used instead of the explorer or lincoln setup. i would imagine so, with it being an 8.8 and everything but i was wondering if anyone had an idea or had already tried this

yes it can be done, in fact that is what is in my car. first the 8.8 and 7.5 both used the same brakes so if you already have a 79-93 stang rear get a 6 banger rear for a doner there usaully about 300 less than a gt rear second the only difference with these rears from a 79-93 rear is the axle lenth due to it having abs, but there is a company that makes conversion caliper brackets to us these set up on an older rears and they can be contacted at northracecars.com they offer this swap in a couple defferent ways i went with this set up because it is the best match for the 11 inch granada set up in front. good luck

How close is the width on the SN95 rear axle?

it all depends what you want to do, if you are still going to retain original offset wheels a fox style or 94+ rear will not let you they are both wider i don't rememember the exact amount but if your going the route of newer style wheels (cobra, bullits, etc) these rears fit very well. a sn95 rear shares the same housing as a fox rear so that measurement is the same but the axles in the sn95 are longer than fox in order to clear the abs trigger so this rear will over all be alittle wider but you can swap axles between the both but if your using the sn95 you'll need a new caliper mount to correct the math. hope this helps. jeff
