    That's probably the best bet.

I have done the same and still feel that with the extra HP....close to 400, that I would have to allow something for the rear rotating up on launch, then the consideration for the give in the leaf springs. Does this make any sense? Considering 5 degrees down. I am no mechanic by no means.

coping the stock one is a good way to go. especially if you didnt have any vibrations at high speeds.
the best way is to set the diff up in the car at ride height on its perches unwelded. then set the pinion angle 2 degrees down from the engine/transmission center line. the tack the perches in place and take apart to weld and straighten the housing.

Thanks for the info..sounds like a great alternative. Will make it harder, but I think with better results.

I have a 70 maverick that I have been working on for some time. I have cut away the shock towers and replaced the front end with an RC 107 Mustang II front. It has a rack and pinion set up with coil overs. The set up for motor and trans has a 4 degree angle to the rear.
When you said to set the diff at 2 degrees down from engine and transmission, does that mean in addition to the 4 degrees plus the 2?

no it would be taken away. something like this

so if your engine and trans are pointed up 4 degrees towards the front of the car, your diff should be 2 degrees up towards the front.

I am not very good at telling you how it is set up. It would be 4 degrees toward the rear. I like the drawing, picture is worth a thousand words. Thanks...
