    a grill of maverick fit on amercury comet 71

    I just want to know if it is possible do this!
    because I can't find the grille for my 71 comet.....:mad:
    and I saw a few grilles in internet

    any answer? thanks:tiphat:

    The mav is gone but i'm still here!
    it will fit but it wont line up to the hood/bumper since they're different.if you change the hood/bumper also you can have a comick or mavet ;-)

    The grills are pretty much all the same, but like they said Maverick grills do not look right on a Comet. JMO:)

    What they are saying is that the hood and grille are different on a maverick that on a comet

    a Maverick grille is more V shaped, while a comet grille has more contour to it.

    Any Mav grill 70-77 will bolt in,just won't look right.Guess it's better n nothing/or a busted grill.

    I will make a custom grille

    make a frame of grille and use Fiberglass! I hope it goes well

    I will post some pictures later!

    I just brought home a 73 Comet GT and the grill in it looks decent, it does have one broken fin but I can glue a fin in its place, if you are interested shoot me a pm.

    I have a 75 Mav, grille is broken...I have been thinking of making one of fiberglass but I do not know how to start...I hope you post those pics soon...It will help me

    The first thing I had in mind is make a metal mold with any measures to approximate the grille, then mixt fiberglass mold and then attach it to the metal frame, used drill to give you the forms and ready to paint ...


    Lo primero que yo tenia pensado es hacer un molde con cualquier metal dar las medidas aproximadas al grille, luego mixtiar la fibra de vidrio adjuntarla al molde y luego preocuparme por que quede en el lugar exacto, si llegara a ocupar mas medida! nada mas adjuntaria un poco de fibra de vidrio, usaria taladro, esmeril para dar las formas que quieres y listo para pintar...
