I love my XM radio. I have two Skyfi radios - one for me and one for Karma (wife). I listen to it at work, in the car, and at home. It's great. Ok, I'll quit sounding like an XM commericial.
Guess you know how old I am, Just canceled my 45 rpm record of the month club! Still trying to decide if I want to go with 8-track or cassette! IPOD, still sounds like a dirty word! Should be on the Xlist of radio!
Maybe you should go with an 8 track quadrophonic. For those of you not familiar: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadraphonic
i install and sell that stuff and i still have the am in mine that dosent even work to much time at work i guess.
Yup. I had a Quadraphonic player (in addition to the factory 8-track stereo) in my 1972 Hurst Olds. It was a Hitachi. I only had a couple of quad tapes (there weren't that many offered), but I certainly remember having a Jethro Tull quad tape (maybe Bowie's Ziggy Stardust also). There really was a noticeable difference in the improved sound - as I recall anyway ... I can't remember a lot of the 70's.
I went with the Pioneer Head Unit and iPod controller in my Mustang. I ran the iPod cable into the center console and keep the iPod in there ....
I have used the MP3 player (I don't have an IPod specifically) thing to a level that keeps my vehicles with stock head units. That is what I like about that technology. I mounted an FM modulator behind the dash of my vehicles, only the input wire shows. Then I put velcro on the back of the 'pod' so I can secure it in a convienent, but hidden place. Now I can plug it in, set to shuffle, hide it, have the radio tuned to 'my' channel, and all looks stock. In my daily driver, I put better speakers and amp for a pair of bazooka tubes running line level inputs. Works awesome. I have started the same project in the Spabber. Stock AM/FM stereo head unit circa 1975, with 4 good speakers and modulator. I just have to hide and amp and one or two subs. If it turns out as good as my daily, it will really make people wonder where all that sound is coming from with a cheezy Philco head unit. Dave
That's funy, I just installed an iPod cable into my Maverick. yes, my Maverick. I had a old NLA Kenwood head unit (with the knobs!) that controlled a CD changer. Now it controls my iPod too.
