Air cleaner

    1972 Ford Maverick
    I just bought a 72 Maverick Base Model. It has a new 302 v8 with a holley street avenger carb. I need to get an air cleaner. Does anyone recommend any brand or size? I dont want to order one and find out it doesnt fit. My two concerns are the dist cap getting in the way and clearance from the hood. Any help on this would be great I'm a bit of a newbie. Thanks

    14" with any of the drop bases will work. I just pulled a 1.5 drop base w/3" filter off my holley street avenger carb...

    the 14" drop base will fit. if you have the large style cap distributor it will just touch the posts. the base can be dented in to get the necessary clearance

    Holley's 14" drop-base will fit. I prefer Ford Racing's 13" drop-base.
