Getting ready to swap over to disc brakes from a Versailles and I need to buy new rotors and pads. Has anybody used these before? Any thoughts? http://www.ebay.com/itm/390443596304?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
Haven't used them myself. They don't mention the manufacturer, they may be ok. Personally I prefer to stick with Raybestos PG rotors and pads. Cost a little more but you don't want to cheap out on brakes.
$178 is a lot of money for rotors and pads. It cost me $31 to put '96 Grand Marquis (like new) disc on the rear using junkyard parts.
I found others that were quite a bit more expensive, so I thought these might be good "middle of the road" parts.
I'll go check out Rock Auto. Maybe I can get a deal on shipping since I need a couple of other things.
Manufacturer Part Number: BL141127093 Placement on Vehicle: Left, Right, Front, Rear ...they have one PN# for front and back... I didn't know the front rotors would fit the back... maybe that's the price you pay for...Versailles...rotors.
Could be. I just put mid-priced rotors and pads on my Chrysler 300, $40 each for rotors and $30 each for pad sets, including shipping. Best prices I found after a lot of shopping around.
Are you running a Versailles 9" rear or are you in the process of swapping one into your car? If you are just swapping the front disc brakes, then you don't need this kit. If you are swapping in the rear as well, then this kit is cheaper than the prices from RockAuto.com. All that said, I prefer to use know manufacturers rather than save a few bucks. Brakes are one of the things I never go cheap on.
The rotors are sold separately with different part numbers. I think these show one part number for the front & rear because they are being sold as a set and that is the part number for the set. We are in the process of swapping in the 9" and 4 wheel disc. I also found this kit to be less than Rock Auto, but even worse, Rock Auto wants $75 to ship which seems very expensive. Anybody have a coupon?
Same deal here when I ordered mine, Rockauto's initial prices were cheaper but the shipping costs, from two different locations, knocked them out of the running. Found a place on eBay called Wizard Auto that had better prices than the local Autozone, even with shipping.
After thinking about it for a few, I decided to try a couple of different zip codes thinking that it might save me a couple of dollars on the shipping. My Dad is 10 minutes South of me with a different zip and my Brother is 12 minutes East of me with a different zip. Voila! I entered my Dad's zip and that saved me $10, but I entered my Bro's zip and that saved me $22. It is still more than ebay, but is more reasonable now and hopefully are better parts. They have been ordered!:bananaman
If your brother's store is out of stock...I bet they will have the parts from your store delivered to his store
They are being shipped from a warehouse and I have no idea where the location is. I can't believe the shipping is $22 cheaper to my Bro's house which is only 12 minutes away. But hey, no complaints here.
