Are maverick/comet doors the same?

    I just met a guy that had a comet door on a mav (2door) and said that the door did not fit properly to the line of the fender.

    Are the doors different?
    Do they differ between years?

    All sheetmetal is the same for all model years. Maybe he was referring to the mouldings? There were several variations in thickness, as well as positioning.

    The mav is gone but i'm still here!
    A guy i talked to w ahile back had 2 72 comet doors on his 74 mav, the only difference was that the mavs(74) weighed more(i'm gussing because of the extra support bracket inside).

    Should have weighed the same. The only doors that didnt have the reinforcement beam was the 70.

    The doors on my '72 don't have the reinforcment either. My '73, '74 and '76 does have it.

    I can't gaurentee the doors on my car are original though. They do have a diffrent key then the ignition...
