I had just graduated from college the year before and was recently married when my Sprints and GT's were made. I walked into a Ford dealership in Louisville looking for a Mach 1 and saw a Mustang Sprint sportroof. I was awestruck. My new bride agreed to let me order one for myself. Unknowingly, this act started the Madness of Old Cars for me later on down the road. Jim
I am 29yrs older than my Comet. I never wud have bought it then. I like the larger more comfy vechicles. I bought a new Ford LTD w/ all options; great ride not much in the way of handling. I bought the Comet cuz I wanted to get back w/ the gearhead crowd. I found this car, price was right, car in pretty gud shape. I guess the rest is history.
My Maverick is 37 years Old (It thinks its 18 still) Iam 50 years old but act like am 21still and my body is starting to let me know
Agreed... I'm WAY Younger than my Maverick... I'm 23 and My Maverick is 40 and a few months... I am seeing ALOT of posts from Teenagers/ early 20 somethings here... I'm SO VERY GLAD to see I'm not the only one from OUR Generation that Appreciates the beauty, Simplicity and Overall BADASS-NESS Of A Classic... Especially a Maverick!!!
I am 2 years to the month older than my Mav. Had a young salesman at work checking out my Mav last week. He asked me if it was a Chrysler. I said no its a Ford. Ford what?? Its a Maverick I said. He asks what year it was so I told him 72. Then to add insult to injury he asks me if I'm the original owner. Since I'm 40 years old I figure hes really bad at math or I look really old. I'm guessing hes bad at math.LOL.
