At 22 years old, home from Nam and on my second Enlistment in the Marine Corps when my 1972 Maverick was created. I knew a young Marine who bought a 72 brand new, 302, 3sp on the floor, I feel in love and 30 years latter I owned one. Just now I have a place, I make the time and some money so I'm finally fixing it up.
When my first Grabber was new in '71 I was 17,now that I have my 2nd Grabber, I still act 17.....39 years later!( Does that make any sense?) It's nice to see most on this forum are kids or old guys (OLD GUYS RULE!)
I am 23 years older than my Mavericks. We have aged at about the same rate but My repair bills are lower for the last years than my cars.
i'm ten years older then my 77 unfortunatly i'm in better shap then it is! but i'm workin on changing that.
My '72 beater rolled off the line January 12, 1972. I was born September 11, 1987, and of course was brought home from the hospital in a '71 Comet.. My '72 had been on the road for 15 years, lived in three major cities, and traveled all the way across the country from Los Angeles to Philadelphia by time I was born. It has 334,000 miles, 107,000 of which was put on by me. Me, well, my last name is just Miles.
Well... I *WAS* until last year... I was born in '65 and both my Comets '72s... but I've been lying about my age since I hit 40 so now I dye my hair and count backwards. Now I'm only 35! I'm younger than both my cars.
I was born in Jan. 56, that means @april 55 I was concieved, my 55 crown vic was built sometime that year so we are pretty close, ol vicky is aging better than me though!
