gettin close...13 days to go til TOAD SUCK MINI MEET...

 

Yup, 13 days... and I JUST may get to bring my Comet after all
Pulled the motor/tranny out on saturday, went thru it
Needs main bearings and put back together.
Trying to come up with the money for some ARP rod bolts, main bolts and head bolts
May have to just get the bottom end stuff and do the head bolts later.
Then put new brakes on it, and could be able to trailer it in most of the way and then drive it the last mile there.

mornin Andy...push it, pull it, drop it from a helicopter or use a group of sled dogs. Drive would be good too...lol

 

The car is freaking ugly at the moment... Paints faded bad.
I need to find a set of small 15'' tires for the front also...
I have a set of slicks for the rear, and some crap tires for 14's on the front, but bought a set of 15x7 rims at the scrap yard the other day. Put slicks on 2, now need 2 front tires
so It may not make it afterall

Ok folks 9 days to the Great Toad Suck MCCI Mini Meet. The dash plaques are here, the shorthorns are gettin rested up for a run to Conway Arkansas. Yall feed em good and get them ready for the stampede next saturday.Fun , food, shorthorns, drag racing, a swap meet, and Elvis will sing...( hey it could happen, lol) Hope to see you all there...Jim

 

Looks like I am going to be able to make it after all. We will be staying over Saturday night and heading up to Branson some time Sunday. Are there good hotels there in Conway or am I going to have to head back toward Little Rock? You know it's almost as far to this mini-meet as it is to the Roundup for me..

Matt I'm glad you are getting to come. We are coming down on Friday evening and heading back sometimes Sunday. We got a room at the Motel 6 in town, nothing fancy but decent price and close. Be safe and I'll see you there...Jim

 

Plenty of hotels to stay in
Some decent ones (motel 6, Economy Inn, etc)
And we have a Best Western, Holiday inn, etc
For the money, I'd stay in Motel 6.
Around 34 a night.

 

Hey Andy, Jim, I'm on call the weekend of the meet, and we've got a high profile cutover scheduled to boot. I'm gonna try to get someone to cover for me for a couple of hours Saturday. What would be the best time to try to make it out to the park when most people will be there? I'm thinking about 10 am?
Andy, we lost a member of our group at work and everybody has been putting in a lot of overtime taking up the slack. I promise we'll get together about some parts you need.

Looks like I may not make it after all.
My grandmother has been in a nursing home for the last few years.
Has been found unresponsive in her room 3 times here in the last 6 months.
They found her that way again today. They got her "awake" and was going to take her to the hospital and she said "Don't take me, just let me go"
They rushed her to the ER anyways.
I just got the news and will be on my way over there shortly.
Hopefully everything will be ok and I can make it, but if she passes away and the funeral is Saturday, you can rule me out for sure.

Well, THey sent her back to the nursing home..
Hope she stays in good helath.
Still not 100% sure I will make it, but will try my best.
