'Just installed my new lower control arm/ball joint assemblies from OpenTracker.
When I went to grease the passenger side lower ball joint, I expected the rubber boot to puff up as it filled with grease, but instead the grease started squeazing out of the bottom (edges of the plate that is rivited to the control arm). I haven't greased the driver side yet.
    Is this normal?...

Normal if they were pre-greased from the factory. They should not be over filled with grease.

I have no idea if they were pre-greased. Is that typical?...

The driver side does not do that.
'Guess I'll contact OpenTracker & ask them...

I had the exact same thing happened when I installed my lower control arms from OpenTracker a few years back, although mine where their "Road Racing" version with spherical bearing pivot, boxed in bottom w/Moog screw in ball joints. I did call John and our conversation ended up talking about how Moog's quality was not a good, since being bought out by Federal Mogul? I ended up purchasing better AFCO ball joints.
I would contact John regardless, perhaps can arrange for a new replace lower control arm? It is a pain to drill out the rivets and replace, something you should not have to do, since you just got the arms.......good luck!

Here's the reply I receved from OpenTracker:

"Those ball joints are pre-greased but additionally, if grease is coming out from under the boot plate, grease is getting into the ball joint even if you don't see the boot swelling. So no, there is no cause for concern. Hope this helps.

    Sincerely,

    Jeff
    "

So it looks like there's nothing to worry about.
Now I gotta get it into the alignment shop...

I did not realize that John and Shari retired last year and sold the business to Jeff and Daniel! Great to know that you got a reply and everything is OK!
