Best c4 gear ratio combo

    I was woundering what your guys opinion on the best gear ratio to run in my diff? I got a c4 trans, ford 8, 15 in wheels. Im wanting to still be able to run the interstat,but wanting to go with lower gears currently my ratio is 3.00.

    whats your tire size? and wat s the max interstate speed over your way?

    i usually recommend 3.25s.
    while tire height does have an effect on things the options on available rations really cancel out the tire height variances.
    the 3.25s will allow you keep up with traffic on the freeway but still have some more get up and go from the stop light.

    true, forgot 8in had a huge gap,,, as 3.55 is being the next
    I probably wouldnt even run that even with a 28in tire...unless I did overdrive swap

    The way I typically decide on my cars r/p ratio is based on my driving habit..usually 70-75MPH and wanting to be around 3k at those mph

    Im not doing alot of interstate driving, but i would like to be able too if need be. The max speed you will see around me is seventy but to stay with traffic we are talking seventy five eighty. Far as tire size i don't know that yet Im putting this car back together. Whats the max you think 3.25 would top out at? and What Rs you think i be turning at seventy with the 3.25?

    That figure will be true for a stick shift setup but for the average stock torque converter, I believe you need to add approx 200 RPM to the calculated RPM...
