I have been trying to find a replacement blinker flasher for a 75 mav. The part number I have is for a Motorcraft SF 224, but I get is an emenergy flasher 2 prong. What gives?

The blinker is a 3 prong. Has anybody runs into this before? Have they stop making them?

Do you mean the turn signal switch inside the steering column?

Just so happens I had to replace mine this week. I saw 2-terminal and 3-terminal devices on the rack. All of them were what they now call "heavy duty". They'll blink if you add bulbs or even if bulbs burn out, just like the old hazard flashers. Used to be the turn signal flasher wouldn't flash if a bulb burned out, that way you knew there was a problem. Different part numbers related to how many bulbs were in your turn signal system. Four way emergency flashers worked no matter what, even if some bulbs were out. Just pick a flasher with the number of terminals you need and use it. You'll have to keep a check on the bulbs to make sure they are all working.

Ok I solved the problem. It turned out that the 3 prong flasher was the seat belt circuit. I started looking harder under the dash and the dam thing was buryed I didn't see. The turn signal flasher is a 2 prong which is typical flasher. After this I'm going to quite working on cars. Talk about getting kicked in the ass.
