you have to remember that is the way with my maverick....shes telling you something and if you dont treat her nice she'll get tempermental..or the way with all lady's...lol.....jk but we all get overwhelmed at times but you have to stick it in there..we have all thought about selling our mavs a time or two when things get down but theres something to your own maverick that makes you wanna keep her...like magic...lol just my 8am thoughts before work.
I got it back on Sunday, but I didn't have time until tonight to tell you all. She looks great. Until the summer, she will be a light gray color, until I get her painted. I know you will all say that it will rust away in primer, but it has a hardener and sealer mixed in with the primer so that doesn't happen. I put my Torq Thrust Ds on it today. Man it looks sweet! Once the lights and trim are back on, and the glass is back in it will look great. It is so nice to have a car that is one color again! I will get some pictures up as soon as I can. -Corbin
another maverick man {kid} Hey Corbin, great to see someone like you turn their head from the evil ways of rice injected, low riding death traps! Here is my 14 year old son working on a 73 basket case! He is so pumped up about it! He put the steering collum and manual front end parts today. I told him we might just part it out and crush it on account of the floor pans and rust on the car. He looked like his heart was breaking! So, with the wife's advise he has been aloud to continue his quest for a driveable mav! I'm really proud of his dedication and determination! Here he is creaning out the beer cans and 1/2 bottle of tequilla found in the trunk (poured out!). GO BOY!!!
. Good to know that there's other young maverick lovers out there, I'm 21. Just bought a 71 2-door, but it won't be ready for a loooong time . Here's where you guys can see a picture of it: I don't know how to insert pictures into my posts yet so you're gonna have to go there to see it. You guessed it, I found it on this site.http://ep.com/js/mi/c2858/1474597.html
hey, just had to throw in my $.02! i am a 21 year old GIRL who loves her mav! see it's easier for you guys, even young guys cause other guys take you seriously. when i go to get the tires balanced and rotated they ask me if i am aware that i have two different size tires on my car? what idiots. way to go corbin! best of luck with the body work. Jeri
damn, my firewall didn't like that link!! It notified security, I hate when that happens--no big deal. That white mav with the 14 year old looks pretty straight---Hate to junk that!! It might be worth it to redo the floor pans
I'm with you. I'm 21 also and I think it's awesome to see a girl with a cool car. Especially when she knows a thing or two about it! Looks like we have a pretty young board here. I always hate how I'll go to a show with my Dad and everybody asked him if it's his car....He always replies...Nope it's that young man;s over there! Gotta love the look on most of there faces! Sorry HAHAHA Rock On ! I bought my first Mav when I was 17 in high School....
but I do have a rice Burner...but it only has 2 wheels so I don't know if that counts....Honda Motorcylces are cooler than Honda Cars...Anyways it's up for sale. Need more room to work on the Mav
I have a two wheel rice-burner, too ... Suzuki Intruder 1400 http://homepage.mac.com/dmhines/intruder/index.html
Mark_B, It's cool to see another 14 year old working on a Maverick! Your son will get to keep the one he is working on (hopefully) but there is no way in h*ll that my 14 y/o's first car is going to be "Pegasus" (my '76 two-door). At least not until I put the old 250 engine back in it! If my kid is under the impression that he's getting MY Maverick with a 347 stroker, 6-71 blower, SuperChiller cooler, Currie 9" rear, corbeau seats and transbrake then I'm afraid he might need a bit of talking to! Anyone got a decent-looking 170cid-powered two-door for sale? <huge grin> Thanks, Tracy
forgot to mention... For what it's worth, rumbling through a ricer-crowd get-together with duel Flowmasters is WAY cool! Kinda neat to listen to the car alarms going off! hehehehahahahahhaa! Tracy
Gosh you people know how to make a 30 year old newbie feel OLD. I'll be wandering out to get my walker later today. At 16 I was a runaway, just arriving in CA. Not much time to restore a vehicle when you're surviving I guess. I sure hope I have the tenacity to stick it out like you people do. Women with hot wheels are hot by default. Especially if they did it themselves. My mother was far more mechanically inclined than I was, she rebuilt a Triumph Spitfire (two door - not sure of the details). Sure wish she was around now, I could use her help. Lates, Paul
