Sorry. Just found, you are running strange mc, no proportioning valve, and mav front disc, crown vic rear.. If I do the explorer rear end swap and mav front that should be about the same volume of fluid movement as your set up. How often during the pad life do you have to ad fluid with that mc? About the same as a modern vehicle? Was strange piece just a direct bolt in w/o trimming? Did you have to swap rod or just want adjustability? If we order it and the Scott Drake adjustable rod, do you think they will work together? This is his daily driver so it will have to be a weekend swap for most of it. Sorry for all the questions at once but I want to get everything together and be prepared. I saw Mike Bowens mav at Bowling Green last fall at NMRA and really like how he has his leaf spring set up. I would like to do his the same way to make some more room for tires. We are going to run 15x8s in the rear, they are 4.5 in backspacing. I'm worried they may not clear the leaf spring. See where some fit, some don't. My mav had 14x8s but I didn't have but 3.5 in back space and they rubbed inner wheel tub sometimes. He wants the prostars. He is a fan of the 70s look. All except the original black and white plad seat inserts he has. Lol. I love it but I always have to remind myself it ain't what I want its what he wants.... Well.. Sometimes he just don't realize he wants it. lol.
on adding fluid...if you have disc brakes and the fluid is low...check the brake pads. as the pads wear the caliper holds more fluid. if you add fluid then when you replace brake pads the fluid will be pushed back into the MC and overflow... so low fluid level may be an indicator of worn pads/rotor.
