I pulled bucket seats out of a 79 Mustang a while back and I am getting ready to put them in my Maverick. I took all the hardware that wasen't welded down, but I'm noticing that if I use the rails on those seats, my seats are going to end up lopsided. has anyone put mustang seats from 79-93(assuming they use the same/similar set up for the entire run of that body) into their mav/comet successfully? my maverick had bench seats so i can't use the hardware from them i don't think. thanks, Jim
AngurisNeo, the floorpans on the Maverick/Comet are unique to the Maverick/Comet. In order to put in bucket seats without modification you will need bucket seat rails from a Maverick/Comet from a 1971-1974 which are the pre-catalytic years. Someone else maybe able to help if they did any kind of modification on those Mustang rails, but I have never heard of anything else being a direct fit with out some modifications. Good luck,
angurisnero,i just put some bucket seats in my 70 mav today.they came out of my old 86 mustang lx.had to redrill holes and make a 1 3/8"block spacer for the rear rail bolt, closest to the tranny tunnel.they sit straight and level.to cover the spacer,i'm just going to spray the spacer with some 3m spray adhesive, and wrap it with a pc.of carpet.can send you a pic,if you want.hope this helps. chuck.
