I want to take the bench seat out of my 72 comet and put in buckets but i'm not sure of what ones to put in. Any ideas of some nice comfy bucket seats that fit? Thanks

I think any will fit. I'm using tempo seats in mine. Just had to cut the bracket a bit and make holes in the floor. If you use factory bucket tracks it makes the swap easy as pie. I'm cheap though so I just made the tempo one's fit.

Pretty much. You can weld plates for strenght also. But I think it's fine with just bolts and washers, unless your floors are rusted out.

Sweet. I found some generic jc whitney bucket seats that recline and look fairly comfortable for 250 a pair. Id rather just get new if i can. Than paying 150 to 200 or more for some ripped or soon to torn used seats

i used mitsubishi eclipse buckets from the local u pull yard. cost $16 each and they have flat tracks that fit almost perfect.

hey i wanted to start a new fourm but cant really find out how. Could some one shead some light? Im going to put a ls1 in my 75 comet. I was wondering if anyone has done this before or gone this far. i did search and found no luck on the ls1. I figure this is will be a pretty sweet when deal when all said and done. The ls1 will be producing 425 to the wheel on a dyno.
anyway could some one explain how to start one?

Are you sure you searched? LS1 has been done already.

    I figured it had been. i typed "Ls1" "ls1 swap" "ls1 comet" "ls1 maverick"
    And didnt really find anything.
I know the ls1 is just a awsome preformance motor over all and is great in just about anything you put it in. Can anyone find a fourm or article that might help in the transition?

    mark VIII seats

Just installed mark VIII lincoln seats from a 98.(awesome bucket seats) ITS EASY except for the minor welding to create new feet for the seat. Now to dye the leather black or leave it grey... hmmm.

im using seats out of a ford fusion 04..... i did a lil mods to make it work tho. i took of the electric seat rails and drilled and bolted up the old seat rails and wooohoo it was like magic man. there almost like the mustang seats that they use now that are leather and what not.....

I got seats from a '96 Mustang for free on Craigslist. They are in very good condition, unfortunately they have not been installed yet.
