budget 460's what did it run

    i have a tubbed 86 mustang, with a .060 over 460 with not ported but cleaned up runners and a 630 soild flat tappet cam, flat top pistions,stock crank with stock rods with good bolts,4000 stall c6 trans and 5.00 gear ,32 tall rear tire,roller rockers, victor intake ,and 850.shifting at 6000rpm , weighs 2600 with out driver,it ran a best of 10.58 1/4 and 6.79 1/8th, it needed a little looser conv.,maybe a 4500 stall,it was running on e85,oh yea and it went 1.44 60 ft on footbrake,i felt like it would do better 60 ft with the conv. change, oh i sold the motor and trans to a guy in kentucky,near owensboro ,and the body is for sale on racing junk ,now ....just saying lol

    cool. that was a good running car, I don't I can get the maverick that light. lol

    WOW sounds like alot more motor than mine . Wonder why they run about the same when mine is heavier n less motor?

    does it still have the dished pistons in it or flat tops. either way thats a very hard running car

    Yeah it still has the factory std bore dish pistons .. With the heads heads milled .030 it still is like 10.75 to 1 compression with the thin .037 head gaskets

    I have a .030 over 460 with big dish pistons c9ve's ported mostly on exhaust side,BB Chev studs and guide plates Crane roller rockers,Crane hydraulic flat tappet 236/240 @.050 556/563 lift, stock rods with arp bolts,stock crank,oil pump,pan. Performer RPM intake 700 DP Holley,1 3/4 headers 3" exhaust,3800 10" converter,stock C6 (fresh rebuild) 456 gear in the 9" with a trac lock.All this is in my 64 pick up tipping the scales at 4178 LBS with me in it
    It's best pass
    60' 1.66
    1/8 7.71 @ 90 mph
    1/4 12.11 @110 mph

    guess im just not as good as you at tuning and setting up cars.....:huh:

    cool, I figure that in a light car such as a maverick that combo should be good for high 6's

    If you would like to buy the motor and trans Id sell you it all ready to run except the headers and heck you may even make them work .. Youd have to get motor mounts and a front sump pan.... It has a er a ahem Gm alternator on it but it's a one wire so it'd save you alot of hooking up wires .. and is set for a MSD ignition box .. once you got it mounted and wired and a drive shaft you could be screaming ... I'm going turbo small block stroker .. Pm me if your interested .. Come look at it and go for a ride if no snow .. It'll scare you how hard it pulls ...

    wow with it being a stock bottom end motor with not much done to it ,it should be a good deal on the price how much do you want ,it should be cheap for the hp,
