Bumper exchange

    An old lady down the block has a 76 comet for sale but the front bumper and grill smashed and rear bumper dented bad. Another friend has a 73 comet gt bad boby damage to the drivere side t boned , but good bumpers and all around good doner car . Could any one tell me if it could be interchanged before i buy the cars. Thanks in advace bill

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    You want to put the good smaller bumpers on a big bumper car??The parts will interchange.Bumpers/bumper brackets/ grill etc etc...You will need the lower valences from the small bumper car as well for the swap.You may have to drill/relocate mount holes for the front bumper though.Sounds like lots of good parts no matter what you do though.Good luck.

    The bumper brackets will not be a bolt on deal. Some minor fabrication is going to be requires, Personally, I think its worth the effort.

    i'd probably swap alot more then the bumpers over from the GT. ;)

    Being from Ontario, I'd make sure the car is solid before wasting your time, not many Mavericks or Comets have lasted this long around here without major rust.

    repop bumpers

    some of the mustand bumpers look like they will work on my 74 up grade to small bumpers...i have 71 comet brackets...69/70 mustang front and rear...any one hav a clue as to the letters that preceeds the part#17906..the letters in a/k catalog are DODZ and the letters after the part# is RC.....the part# in the mustang unlimited is the same, however the letters are different..any one know if any other windshield besides maverick fits my 74 comet???are 2 door and 4 door windshield the same???

    Mustang bumpers are not the same, although I have seen a rear one used before. All Maverick and Comet windshields are the same.
