Yep, ran one for years. Here is a tip...if you get a '67 or so Mustang shifter, it is a bit smaller, and works the same. Makes a better look, and more room for the bench. But, a stock or aftermarket will work too.
Seth; just sent you a pm. I found the inspection cover, and I am cleaning it up a bit and sending it on Monday. Should be there in a few days.
Hey Earl, I was thinking of going ahead and converting mine from the column to the floor, before I get my bucket seats re-done someday. Is using the factory hole in the floor to mount a factory automatic Maverick/Comet floor shifter possible and still have full function of the gears? I thought the bench was to close to the shifter? or am I mistaken. Thanks
I put my Mustang shifter in the stock position, and had no problems. Be aware that the floor shifter had a hump that you can use to position the shifter up and to the left side of the tunnel. If you use the shifter on the floor, you may have to enlarge or reposition the hole. Just make sure to get a floor shift manual selector arm for your trans. They are different. Good luck.
I kno that the '69 torino haad a cut out in the bench for floor shifters and ive always ran buckets in my mavericks so i m not much help but think there isnt much room for a shifter there. atleast not to use all gears maybe just drive?
