Nobody ever sits in the back seat....so it is not much of a problem. the magnet is right in the middle of the seat.....just misses all the metal "bars" of the seat.

I ended up with all Walmart parts, and am very impressed. The entire thing cost under $150 and makes all the difference in the world.

I have not ordered the under the rear seat box yet, the guy who runs the ebay store will not be back in until Jan 5, so I bought a $30 walmart box and put it in the back seat for now. Ended up with the 10" Pioneer sub, and a JVC 65X2watt amp, running it as a single channel, which if I am not mistaken, is actually pushing 130 watts (if it works that way).

I really just wanted something i could feel in my back, but ended up with something that can be heard from way down the street.

When I get the under-seat box, I will keep this walmart box for the trunk of the maverick.

    Frankenbox!!!

Well...here is what i finally ended up with.

I bought the box that fits under the back seat on driver side, but had to cut some of it off to make the 60 portion of the 60/40 lay-down-table still work. Then it sounded like crap at high volume.

I noticed that there was about 8-10" of space back behind the seat where I could extend the box, so I added 7" back on the main portion of the box for extra air. It now sounds AWESOME but looks ugly, at least until I finish covering it with carpet. I ran out of brackets and used a couple of hinges, but those will disappear soon, after the silicone sealant cures.

This is a very ODD shaped box made to fit a very odd shaped location...

Once I get new black carpet on all sides, it will look semi-professional...I hope.

    Hmmm...???:hmmm:

Somehow, this thread went from "fitting an odd-shaped speaker box into an even odder shaped hole" and became "a "how cold is it here" thread.

Not sure how it happened, but if we want to discuss the weather, go to the "Frostbite" subforum to do it.

For here, we can discuss how I go this odd looking box to fit with all of this extra work.

By the way... I carpeted all of the surfaces and it sounds PRIMO now:thumbs2:

I now have a completely hidden 10" sub-woofer and amp that puts out a pretty good bump and thump, and only cost me $150 and about 2 hours cut and grind. I am AMPED (pun intended...:D)

Tool's Sober sounds really nice right about now...

    Oh, yeah...that 3 week-old post...:p

That's ok, it has been butt-freezing cold here the last week. I guess the Canadians got tired of the cold air and sent some along our way:16suspect
