I just read the article and you can do what you want but I wouldn't ever do it that way. I think there's far more risk involved using a tool against the glass like that. With the rope there is nothing touching the glass except the gasket. Not trying to disrespect you but you've done 5 windows and broke one. I've done over a hundred and never broke any. You just have to take your time with the rope and work it gently. Make sure you put some soap on the rubber first.

Turns out the new seal I got was very twisted so I opted to install in on the glass and set it out in the sun awhile. I ended up just roping it in. I used all new 3M products this time and made sure I sealed around the stands very good.....that was where my leaks were from last time. I hope there are no leaks this time. I really want to do some work in the dash area next and can't if it's leaking water.

Got it out and drove it a little. I painted the grill, gravel shield, bumper brackets and fasteners. Putting the bumper back on soon.

    Looking good.

Nothing like a little drive to help the project along.

I pulled the battery to take a look under the tray for rust. I replaced the tray once when I got the car and to my amazement, it was solid underneath. Wire brushed it real good and applied some rustoleum primer and paint. Repop Mustang battery tray going in next.

Plans were to reinstall the frt bumper tonight, but I noticed the bumper bolts were in really bad shape. The stainless caps were nicked up bad like they had kissed the pavement at some point. I sanded them 100/220/300/400/600 and then polished with Mothers. 1 1/2hr later the look a little better.

Getting ready to reassemble the frt end. I ordered 2 new grill grommets that go in the gravel shield. My old ones were hard and loose.

I started hanging the bumper brackets and noticed extra holes on the ends?? :hmmm:

I seriously have no idea what bolted there. Maybe nothing. I'll have to do some reading tonight.

There are braces that go from those holes to the bottom of the valence....right in front of the front tires.

Is there a picture anywhere here Craig? I've searched and couldn't find one. The only other brace I remember is from the bottom of the valance to the frame. Like this.

I saw an exploded view from the parts catalog and it looked like a small bracket. I just can't picture it. I probably took them off when I put the first rechomed bumper on. I did find the 2 small bumper bolts in my old parts box. Nothing else.

But that doesn't bolt to the bumper?? After installed the 2 main bumper brackets...there's a smaller hole at each end of the bumper (see bumper pic). What goes there?

edit; My fault. I didn't specify. I'm talking about the hole in the end of the bumper...not the bracket.

There is a small strap there that is shaped a bit like a question mark, that comes up under the gravel shield and supports the end of it..

I can only imagine the originals were rusty and I tossed them when I put the bumper on years ago. I'll probably just put the bolts in and leave it at that.
