Having a new 302 crate motor installed….. would you get EFI or Carb?

Learn. Anyone can order a engine. Who builds it? Me I can still build a engine and do it better.

Am I better than the shop? I know I am.
    Think about it.

You cannot just put EFI on an engine and drop it into the car and expect it to work. At a minimum the car will need a high pressure fuel pump, possibly a regulator, and depending on what system you use, a fuel return line. Does the car even have electronic ignition, and if so will it be integrated with the EFI? You will also have to replace any rubber fuel line connections with EFI approved pressure lines.

I will go EFI with all my future builds and plan to put EFI on my 57 Chevy. When the 57 sets for a while and I fire it up it can take 5-10 seconds to fire up. I also have had a few issues with the brand new carb and trying to adjust it. EFI's seem to be the future.

I have a Holley Super Sniper on my 351W. Love it, I will never return to carburetors. Also with the Sniper you do not have to have your distributor tied to the EFI. its a good idea but you do not have to. With the intake I had to use with the supercharger, I could not fit the Hyperspark distributor in there. Also Holley/Earls makes EFI fuel pump kits that have everything needed to set it up for EFI. I bought the 20Ft kit and had about 6ft of hose left. Holey has technicians at speed shops all around the country, I set mine up the best I could then took it to a shop near me, He spent about an hour mapping and tuning on mine and only charged me $20.
