changing fenders & gas tank

    Someone was intersated in putting fenders from a 76 mav onto a 71 comet. Can this be done?

    Also a gas tank from a 76 mav to a 71 comet or is the comet the same type of gas tank as a 70 mav.

    Original 72 Sprint Owner, 71 Comet GT, 57 Ranchwagon, 57 4 dr Wagon
    THe fenders will work but you will have to notch them to clear the stone guard. The tank will work but you will need the straps from the 76 and it may lay up against the valance panel. You can gently bow the panel out to clear.

    Thanks for the answer. I thought it would just wanted to be sure.
    I have someone who is intersated in them.
