No offense, but this has to be one of the most ignorant statements I've ever read. Im not saying your stupid, but its a very uneducated statement

If you can build a SBC you can build a SBF...
Scrap the car because it has a different brand motor in it? Yea its totoally worthless then. lol

I wish I understood this. I wouldn't mix brands myself, but it's not because I think Chevy engines are crap. With the right treatment they'll do 250-300k miles or more, just as easily as a Ford will. Honestly the only things that would keep me from building a bastard car are 1: I lack the skill and tools to fab the mounts and crossmembers, 2: I'm not going to pour my hard earned money and my blood and sweat into something that people like you are going to call crap. And of course 3: It's usually not worth the effort.

But a well-built car is a well-built car. A fast car is a fast car. If it's got the timeslips and it's not a hack job done to a rare and valuable car, why does it matter what company designed the engine?

I bet there are more '32 Fords running around with SBCs than Ford engines. And what do you think about somebody putting a Ford 9" rear in a GM car? Or a Powerglide in a Ford drag car? Happens every day.

I've got an HEI distributor, is my car crap?

Never said using parts from other car is bad, just putting engines from other makes is. I also said I woundnt put a ford in a chevy either, because then it would be junk. And whats people like me suppose to mean?

Simply people who would instantly write off an otherwise well-done car as junk just because it has the "wrong" engine in it. I care what people think, I admit it, even if I don't agree with them.

Well 90% of people will walk away from a car that is built that way. I work at alot of carshows and I see it all the time, people walk up on a car think it is nice then see whats under the hood and walk away shaking there head. I agree I care what other people think also,But i shouldnt.

That's my point exactly. A good many people are like that. I could have a blown 572 under my hood and to some people it would still be a "daggum shivalay motor."

That is your opinion. This is not a small block Ford site. It's not a Ford 5.0 site. Its a site for people who like Mavericks and Comets. "All of the extra work" and "having to cut it up" show skill and individuality. You would have to do just as much to put a 460 with a c-6 in. The use of the term "hot rod" is not limited to 32 Fords.
    hot rod

–noun Slang . an automobile specially built or altered for fast acceleration and increased speed.

You guys need to stop putting words in my mouth! I never said it is a FORD sight, but it is about ford cars. That most of the time have ford engines in them. I used 32 ford as a point, but most people think hotrod as a old car from the 40,s back, after that its all muscle.

These cars were never muscle cars. They were economy cars, just like the pinto and the Japanese imports.

In a maverick? no. Just put a cleveland in there.
In a 32 coupe? yes, but i would like to see a cleveland in one eventually.

Now with that said, ide rather see a chevy motor in a ford then a ricer motor in an american car

I'm with you 100%. I am one of those persons who walks away. I see a lot of chevy guys cussing up a storm wanting to fight when the look under this hood. It's funny to watch them when the shoe is on the other foot. It looks like the guy in the background is mad as a hornet.
