Actually there are 3 different ones that I've found. The GT grill had 3 horizontal stainless steel trim pieces on it. Anyone got one?

I have two of the stainless steel trim pieces I removed from a broken grill.

I haven't gotten brave enough to remove the originals. How easily did the chrome come off of the plastic?

Using two small screwdrives I gently pried up on the edges to get them off. Knowing I wasn't trying to save the broken and busted grill helped, as I purposely broke the plastic to aid in getting the strips off.

I found its best to start my answer, to any posted question with " I think". It keeps my foot out of my mouth cause who knows where its been.

    Okay....

...I have to step up to the plate here Dennis and Craig.

I have been around and studied a ton of Comet GT's.
I have never seen any metal pieces attached to a grill
    on a GT.

I have seen some Comets that seemed to have shiny
pieces on the three larger horizontal bars in the grill.
I always assumed that they were chromed plastic
    on a luxury model.

I could be wrong. I have just never seen that on
any of the numerous GT's that I have seen, and I
parked beside of four of them in the 10th grade
at school everyday back in '84.

Those are the stainless pieces we are talking about. They wrap around the 3 horizontal bars. I do not know which years they were produced. They may have been on the early ones only.

From my observations, the stainless strips on the Comet GT grills came on the early GT's, maybe '71 and '72 only. This explains how hard to they are to find.

    Hmmm

I would like to see a pic of that if
    someone can post one.

I'll look through some of my old pics
of cars and see if I can pick that up.
