Any suggestions on the correct battery group for my 77 Maverick. Group 26R is to small for the box and I think a 24F would not fit. Just wondering what others are using?

The Master Parts Catalog says 22HF, 24F, 27F and 22FC

Im using 24F5 frm Advance Auto it fit's the tray perfectly. I shud have got a battery w/ recessed filler caps. I did'nt think abt that when I bought it, just realized it when I installed it. My car has AC, elec fan and sub amp, the battery has plenty of reserve pwr. I do have 130 alt thou and no high compression engine.

I prefer the group size 34 batteries, they sit a little lower and otherwise same size as the 24 and 24f batteries.
