Craig what about speakers in the kick panels. Mark out and drill the kick panels with a small drill bit to create a mesh/vent look. I did mine on the drill press with a 4x4 on the underside. 2 part the speakers to the back of the kick panels. Its very discreet. You can always practice on an old one. I'm sure you have some kicking around. Just an idea.
The thing I don't like about speakers down there is that one really can't hear them. They point directly at things that absorb sound: carpet, feet, legs, shoes, etc. I think for the best "sound"......in the dash close to your ears is a lot better than sound aimed at your feet.
Craig, what did you finally think of the sound quality of the speaker? I checked the Paddock but didn't see this particular speaker listed. This was an old post so stock might have changed.
I have this speaker in two of my Mavericks now. I think the sound is awesome. With a fader I still put about 60% of the sound to the rear.....but the dash speaker adds some great sound to fill the car. I seem to recall The Paddock having this speaker mislabeled in their catalog. Just make sure the speaker is exactly as I have pictured: 5 x 7 dual voice coil.
I know this is a bit of a old thread but just started the speaker install for a four door that is going to blow minds when it is done. This speaker you guys are refering to, and recommendations on how I should wire this five speaker system together? http://mmb.maverick.to/gallery/browseimages.php?do=member&imageuser=12124
You would need to wire the dash speaker to the front kick panel speakers. The dash speaker in this thread is a dual voice coil speaker....meaning that it has a left channel and a right channel.
I would imagine most Mustang places can sell you this speaker. This dash speaker has a "left" input and a "right" input. You can wire it up to the existing front speakers if that is what you are asking.

You would connect the 2 wires from the left front and the 2 wires from the right front.

The speaker has two terminals..One negative and one positive..What do I connect those to[/QUOTE] ONE side of the radio only. You have to buy a special dual cone speaker that had 4 wires to hook up both channels to the same speaker
