i got a 1988 5.0 roller moter and put it in my maverick. I went to swap the distibutors because I am going use the one with points. i noticed the shaft below the gear on the 88 is longer than the one with the points.it seems to fit ok even in the oil pump shaft.BUT i am asking you guys is there a real differance to worry about? I know the differance between the two types of steel the gears are made of. just not sure about the differance of the length of the shafts? thanks again ALex O.
