If I had a trailer I wouldn't mind as much ... but my car has never been driven in the rain since completion. It's a 70 mile drive from my house to the speedway which would make for an extremely dirty undercarriage and engine compartment and hours of cleaning. We shall see it's still pretty far out for them to predict accurately. If it turns out to be a rainy weekend ... I can still drive the Mustang and party with you guys.

I'm going to wait untill about Wed or Thurs and see how it looks then....right now our 7 day forcast is calling for showers Thurs with a slight chance on Fri....so with GA being about 1/2 to 3/4 day behind us in weather....that could mean rain on Fri with just a slight chance on Sat....we will see......fingers crossed....

Planning on what the weather is going to do 7-8 days from now is like predicting which Hillary is going to show up at the next rally. I have found that weather forecasts a week or more in advance, for around here, are always two days off - either early or late.

Even if I had a daily driver Maverick ... it's the Grabber I'd want to show off at Atlanta Motor Speedway ... :)

What's amazing is that Georgia is working on a record rain deficit for the year ... and they are predicting rain that weekend ...

I'm going straight to AMS .. leaving my house 5:00 AM Friday morning and try to make it through Atlanta before rush hours ... Most of the guys are either meeting at the track ... or the hotel ...

Kirk Mellish is by far and away the most accurate weather forecaster in Atlanta. Click the link below to see his five day forecasts. The one on Tuesday will cover Saturday, May 5.

    need a gas tank...bad

Well...got the typical crap that usually happens when you're getting ready to make a road trip. I was out cleaning on the Maverick and I slid the floor jack under the rear end to get the back tires off the ground to make it easier to polish the wheels. Well, the floor jack barely touched the gas tank and guess what...drip, drip, drip. That's all I needed. So, tonight I went ahead and drained the gas out to see if I was going to attempt to patch it in the car or if I needed to pull it out. I cleaned the spot with a wire brush and found 3 more small holes in the same area. CRAP!!! I dropped the tank, flushed it out with water, cleaned the area very good with the wire brush, got my torch, flux, and solder out, soldered the spot up and it looked pretty good. I started filling it up with water to test it and damn if there wasn't a leak 3 inches to the side of that one. Geez...I figure out real quick the tank isn't even worth fixing but I gotta get something done before I hit the road Thursday heading to Atlanta. Well, 1 1/2 hours later I run out of solder and being that it's 11:00 p.m. I'm not likely to find any more. I have fixed at least 25 pinholes now and still have 2 more spots that have a tiny drip. Oh well, I'm taking it with me in the morning to my buddy at the local radiator shop to let him finish my soldering job. He told me he'd prefer not to simply for the reason of the snowballing pinholes. Too bad for him that he said "prefer". He's getting it tomorrow and I gotta get it back in tomorrow night. I'll still be there rain or shine...even if I have to push it.
GEORGIA BOYS!!! Does anybody have a good tank they wanna sell for a 71-73. I'm gonna patch this thing up but I will be doing something with it just as soon as I get back.
