    will a door from a 1974 mav. fit on a 72 and still look the same? I was told that the door handel wa in a diffrent place and alos the windo crank as well as the arm rest so let me know

    It is different only on the inside. The 74 is heavier due to having a steel beam installed inside for side impact protection.

    The door handles on the inside of the older ones were mounted on an arm rest, where the newer ones had a long rubber handle on the rest, and he opening latch was down and forward.

    I took a 72 door and did some mods to make my 74 handles and latch fit...

    It required cutting the hole out in the bottom portion for the newer opening latch, and welding up some on the top hole for the handle to attach to.

    I still need to paint that door...but it is just one more color to add to my car:D

    yea it'll work, its just that inside door panel thats kinda diffrent
