progress and questions for those with experience with these wagons.

got the back hatch opened finally, and discovered that little storage space under the floor while I was kicking out the leaves/dirt/coon crap/other assorted $**t. then I found the broken glass from the back window, and the rock that was used to break it. also got the front 2 body mount bolts off.
PS. Mavaholic and anyone else that has worked on one of these, how many bolts hold the body to the frame, and where are they? Where can I get a back glass that will fit? Is there another type of donor, cause the only other wagon like mine ive seen was a 4-door outside that dick clark national bandstand in missouri that was gonna be auctioned off. (and it kinda makes me proud that that was a 4-door gonna be sold pretty durn high probly, and mines a 2-door:yahoo::bananaman) Also, what about the drivers side sliding window, the front half? and a passenger side window in the door. This glass problems got me stumped, and I also was wondering about the interior, i'll probly just re cover some seats in the same colors of a different material. I brought in one of the door panels today, and plan to copy it and make new ones.
Sorry I got so many questions, but I don't wanna mess this thing up too bad.

Here is a diagram of the body mounts for the wagon. There are 16 of them. Usually they are pretty rusted and the metal around them is pretty weak so you end up ripping out the sheet metal around the mounting bolt. Soak them many times with a good penetrating oil before attempting to remove them. Shoot it underneath and on top. As far as back glass, I assume you mean the lifting gate glass, all 57-58 wagons are the same. I'm pretty sure the 59 is taller but I don't know for sure. All the side glass is flat glass and can be cut at any good auto glass shop. As far as messing it up...well......you are putting a "c" motor in it so ......:D Let me know if I can help you further.

thankyouthankyouthankyou. Now all I gotta do is find a wagon with a donor glass panel around here. maybe mr. mathis has one. I've got some flat glass from my dad's van, at least i think its flat, I'll take a straight edge to it later. if so, I got the sides covered. I'm sorry you don't like the chevy motor, but its all I got, unless i pull the one outta my maverick and put it in there, and a six may not have enough pep to haul that beast around. especially if i have friends in it. If you wanna donate a running ford v8 to the cause, feel free to. Just think of it this way, in repairing the wagon with these chevy parts i am ridding the world of a chevrolet van. piece by piece. and i'm saving money.

i would, but if i had that kind of money, i wouldn't be putting a chevy motor in it. id have already bought all the parts i needed. i did see one in slightly better shape than mine up for about 1500 a while back and thought of trying to get my parents to get it as a parts car and i pay them back, but it didnt work out. oh well.

well, its finally sinking in that this project cant and shouldn't be rushed to fit within a months time. itd be a pretty nice accomplishment but i cant do it and im just gonna slow it down some and do this right. Maybe I'll come across a ford motor between now and then. Anyone know if a six does have enough go to pull a 57 wagon? I kinda like em and havin one in the wagon would be nice. plus there isn't so much demand for the sixes as the v-8s, so finding one affordable would be easier... ah. so much stuff to do to it... THIS IS GONNA BE FUN!
